Initially, the street was known as Korte Nieuwstraat. The name Sint Annastraat first appeared as early as 1519. This street is perhaps the most photogenic alley in the city centre of Breda. Do you also enjoy visiting it? Vintage enthusiasts can indulge themselves at J'adore Vintage. If you're looking for cool sneakers, head to FAWL Customs. While shopping, make sure to stop by Willem Merkxtuin and enjoy a delicious treat from Patisserie Nettur.

From the Nieuwe Mark at the Tolbrug, you will find the Haagdijken. Here you will find speciality shops, eateries, and cafés with various cultural backgrounds. The Haagdijk is one of the oldest streets in Breda. To make the original historical names of the buildings visible again, Klaartje Scheer created stylised hanging signs at about 25 buildings that refer to the old names. Most of them are hung about 3 to 4 metres high, so be sure to look up when you walk here!
9 things you'll love about Haagdijken:
At the Nieuwe Ginnekenstraat, Oranje Zuid starts, an area with special shops and cosy restaurants. The fun part is that you start your shopping spree on the left side of the road from Van Coothplein and then turn around at the end to explore the right side of the street.
Along the way, you will come across places like Paul Pim and Kloffies & Koffies.
Instead of turning around at the end, you can also cross the bridge and continue your way to Wilhelminastraat, which you can read more about below.

From Nieuwe Ginnekenstraat, cross the canal and continue walking past LILA the store and The Society Shop. Beyond the intersection with Baronielaan, Ginnekenweg begins with a pleasant mix of restaurants and specialist stores. Where the shopping street becomes a residential street, turn around and on the other side of the road, walk back towards Van Coothplein.
Fancy a bite to eat? Along the way, you'll pass by places like Stilleven and Hemels. Great places with a cosy garden!

The Houtmarkt connects Ginnekenstraat, Houtmarkt, and Akkerstraat. This makes it possible to complete a shopping round! Shop for a cool outfit at Urban Bozz, get an LP at Velvet Music, or spices and oils for the most delicious world dishes at Smaack.
Tucked between Havermarkt and Lange Brugstraat you will find the beautiful shopping courtyard 't Sas. Don't walk by, because that would be a real shame. In 't Sas you will find trendy stores in the areas of beauty, lifestyle, and interior design, and - naturally in Breda - cosy eateries. A definite recommendation!
The Boschstraat is one of the oldest streets in the city centre. In this vibrant street, you can find various shops and hospitality establishments. Well-known shops among Breda locals are bicycle shop Schietecat and party supply store de Fop-Sjop. Also, have a beer at De Beyerd or grab a coffee at Kamu.
