Moksie Djarie
Owners and sisters Christin and Astrid want to show that authentic Surinamese cuisine has more to offer than just roti with their restaurant.
Since 2015, Christin has been running the cooking studio Moksie Djarie and decided to take the step to open her own eatery. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with Surinamese influences, immersing you in Surinamese vibes. During the day, Moksie Djarie offers a lunch menu with salads, snacks, and sandwiches with bakkeljauw, curry egg, scrambled eggs, chicken ketjap, and pom. Takeaway is also available.
The dinner menu features a variety of dishes from Surinamese cuisine. From shrimp fritters and salmon balls to baked plantain and saoto soup. For the main course, you can choose, for example, Chinese nasi with shrimp, sweet and sour pork with rice, Batjaw Moksie Alesie with fried fish, and roti chicken. Everything is fresh from their own kitchen.
