Solo in Breda - Things you can do alone in Breda

  • Activity
Are you planning to visit Breda but have no one to go with you, or would you like to explore the city solo? No problem, we have put together an overview of fun activities you can do in Breda on your own!

Chassé Ontmoet

Going to the theatre has never been so enjoyable, as Chassé Ontmoet connects you with other solo visitors through volunteers. This way, you can share experiences and meet like-minded individuals. You will meet at the big clock in the foyer of the Chassé Theater . Every month, Chassé Ontmoet organises at least one evening where you can go to the theatre together with like-minded people.

Guided Tours Blind Walls Gallery

Breda has over 150 murals from the Blind Walls Gallery spread throughout the city, literally a museum on the street. With a bike or walking tour you can together, with a guide and a group of other interested people, view the Blind Walls. The guide shares the stories behind these murals. You can purchase your ticket via the Blind Walls Gallery website.

De aanschuiftafel Filmhuis Breda

Do you sometimes not feel like cooking or eating alone? And do you also want to watch a nice film? Then come to Filmhuis Breda for the monthly aanschuiftafel. On this evening, the tables at Filmhuis will be pushed together, and you can enjoy a ‘cinema plat du jour plus dessert', prepared by the chef. Afterwards, everyone heads to the cinema for a special film or documentary. At the end of the evening, you can also share experiences with other visitors. So going to the movies alone can actually be extra cosy!

Tower Climb Grote Kerk

Do you not suffer from acrophobia and are you interested in the history of Breda? Then a tower climb of the Grote Kerk might be just for you! Via a spiral staircase, you will ascend with a guide to a height of 60 metres. You will enjoy a stunning view over the city and the surroundings of Breda. You will also see several points of interest in the tower, such as the former tower keeper's room and the Nassau bell weighing no less than 3500 kg. For safety reasons, you must be at least 12 years old to climb the tower.

Breda Wandelt

Breda Wandelt is the perfect solution for those who want to walk more. Moreover, this way you continually meet new people. Depending on your subscription, you receive credits (a digital ticket system) which allow you to participate in the walks. Each time, the walks follow different routes so you continuously discover new sides of Breda.
In addition to these walks, BredaWandelt also offers tours, such as the historical tour and a route featuring unique true stories that took place in Breda between the 18th and 21st centuries.

Castle tour Gilde van Breda

Have you always wanted to know what the Kasteel van Breda looks like from the inside? Then sign up for a tour by Gilde de Baronie. Normally, the castle is not accessible because the Royal Military Academy has had its base here since 1826. Every Saturday, when the KMA is out of service, the gates open and a guide from the Gilde will take you around. This is your only chance to visit the Castle. Pre-registration is required, so sign up and discover the rich Nassau history of Breda!

Courses and lessons at Nieuwe Veste

Nieuwe Veste offers creative courses in a wide range of areas. From theatre to pottery and from photography to playing the trombone, at Nieuwe Veste you will find courses for everyone, young and old. You can sign up and join a group of people who share the same creative passion. This way, you also get to meet new people. How fun is that?
