Exhibition of Bert Menco at Het Gele Huis

In May, paintings, etchings, and copper engravings by Bert Menco will be on display at Het Gele Huis. A unique opportunity to become acquainted with a versatile and profound artist. Fascinating are especially his drawings, which he creates using pure gold and silver pens and that are very labour-intensive.

The highlight of the exhibition is Levitation, Menco's favourite drawing. In this work, people and objects seem to float in a fragile balance — a recurring theme in his oeuvre.

Levitation depicts an almost impossible balancing act, where the unreal becomes tangible. The Bert Menco exhibition will be officially opened on Saturday, 3rd May 2025 at 3:00 PM by Patricia Dankers, Professor of American Studies, and fellow student Erik van der Hoeven.
