The Boschstraat and Korte Boschstraat are historically streets with a rich history. And you can still see that today. Just look up as you walk through these streets. Centuries ago, this was the street that provided access to the city. You passed by a number of imposing buildings built by and for the affluent bourgeoisie and the middle class. Some of these national monuments are still standing. For example, the building that now houses the Stedelijk Museum Breda.
Previous names of the Boschstraat were: By the Hospice (1338), Outside the Hospice Gate (1359 to 1539), Hospice End (1526), Boscheind (1535) and Hospice Street.
