Breda is bursting with fun playgrounds, from hidden gems in residential areas to playgrounds with slides, climbing frames, and even zip lines! Whether you're planning a play afternoon, celebrating a children's party, or just want to enjoy the outdoors, there is always a playground that fits perfectly.

Playgrounds with supervision

In Breda, there are four supervised playgrounds where children can play safely while parents relax and watch. Here, they can climb, slide, and make new friends, without you having to worry. Which one will you discover first? 

Pluk's Playground

In the middle of the Tuinzigt neighbourhood lies a playground that feels like a secret discovery: an 'edible playground' on Abeelstraat. A cosy, green place where children can play freely and taste. The playground is filled with edible plants and fruit trees. In a unique way, children learn how healthy food grows. They are even allowed to help water the plants. With colourful play equipment and plenty of space to run around, this is a lovely place for children to explore and experience fun.

Heuvelbrink Playground

In a cosy, green corner of Breda, there is a playground on Heuvelbrink. A lovely place where children can expend their energy. With swings, slides, and plenty of space to run around, this is an ideal spot to spend an afternoon.  

For the little ones (up to 6 years old), there is a large sandpit where they can dig, scoop, and build to their heart's content. With the sand play equipment in the middle, every scoop of sand is a new adventure!  

The kids looking for a bit more challenge can use their climbing skills in the Ruimtenet, a huge climbing frame where they can scramble and test their balance. Under supervision, you can let off steam here and show off your climbing talents!  

And no worries, with a toilet nearby, no child has to go home before they've finished playing.

Playground Ploegstraat

Hidden between the houses on Ploegstraat is a lively playground where children can climb, slide, and swing freely. It's a playground with a lovely community feel, where neighbours meet and children go on adventures together.  Let loose in the sandbox, on the play equipment, or challenge your friends to a game of football. There's always something happening here!

Playground Somerweide

In the Haagse Beemden, you will find Playground Somerweide, a large and challenging play area where children up to around 14 years old can fully enjoy themselves. In the playground, you can find a zip line, slide, or build the most beautiful creations in the sandpit with the water pump.  

Whether you're coming to play with friends after school or celebrating an unforgettable children's party here, Playground Somerweide is always a good idea!

More fun to play!

Playground on Veestraat

In Belcrum, on Veestraat, there is a fantastic playground and sports area where both young children and teenagers can have fun. It's all about moving, exploring, and playing together here. You can climb and slide down the playful climbing frame, swing on the double swing, and bounce together on the two-seater seesaw. The duo gymnastics rack also adds to the playtime fun! 

For the sporty ones, the large kickboxing cage with an artificial grass pitch and the cool BMX track is a dream spot. Here, you can endlessly dribble, pass, and score with your friends. And on your bike, you can race and perform stunts on the track. 

Veestraat 

Play forest Boeverijen

In the beautiful Mastbos lies Speelbos Boeverijen, a place where children can explore nature and play endlessly. Not standard play equipment, but real adventures: climbing trees, building huts, splashing with water and sand, or balancing on fallen tree trunks.  

Those who dare to venture deeper into the forest will find a ‘castle’ with a moat and rope bridge, and even a witch’s circle! Parents are welcome to join on the expedition. There are picnic tables and benches in the large field, perfect for relaxing while the children let loose. And for those who want even more nature fun, the gnome path is nearby.

Parkhoeve Breda North

Looking for a versatile place where children can play, cuddle animals, and enjoy a game of mini-golf? Parkhoeve Breda Noord has it all! Have fun in the playground, complete with a water pump for splashing around. Parents can enjoy a drink and a treat on the sunny terrace at Restaurant De Hoeve. 

At the petting zoo, curious goat kids, adorable rabbits, and cheerful hens are waiting for visitors. But that’s not all! Challenge each other on the mini-golf course and discover who has the best precision. 

For extra adventure, there are fun scavenger hunts around the grounds, specially designed for young explorers. Test your knowledge and experience an interactive day full of fun!

Farm Wolfslaar

At the beautiful Wolfslaar Estate lies Farm Wolfslaar, an educational children’s farm where kids can discover nature in a playful way. Here you can meet farm animals, wander through the maze, and there are plenty of fun play areas to let loose.  

Besides playing, there is also a lot to learn! Children can discover all about nature, urban farming, and how our food grows. Whether you want to help out in the vegetable garden, go on a treasure hunt, or celebrate a birthday party at Farm Wolfslaar, it’s all possible!  

After an afternoon full of adventure, you can relax at Charlotte's Garden House, where you can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, homemade cake, or a delightful lunch. Playground in Park Valkenberg

In the centre of Breda lies Park Valkenberg, a green oasis where children can play happily surrounded by nature. The small playground is a nice spot where especially younger children can have fun. The large sandbox ensures endless digging and building pleasure. 

The playground is freely accessible and the perfect place for a spontaneous break during a day out in the city. Whether you want to catch your breath between shopping or plan an afternoon of play, it's all possible here! 

While the children are having fun, parents can relax at the cosy T-Huis, right next to the playground. With a lovely terrace and an extensive menu, this is the place to recharge.
