  • Studying
If you are a student in Breda, there are countless adventures and experiences you shouldn't miss. To help you make the most of your student years, we have put together the ultimate bucket list for students in Breda. Here are the activities you absolutely must not miss during your time as a student in Breda.

Speciaalbieravond XXL

Want to have a beer on Monday evening? You can do that right here in Breda! Every first Monday of the month, Studio Dependance and Proost organise the Special Beer Night XXL. On this evening, many students and beer enthusiasts wander around the Havermarkt, ensuring you a fun night out. With a stamp card, you can taste four special beers of your choice from their selection of 150 different beers. Are you remembering your lecture the next day?

Sailing around the canals

Have you just started studying in Breda? Then a boat tour over the Singel is a fun way to explore Breda. Even if you already know Breda well, it’s a unique experience, as it allows you to see the city from a different perspective. Rent a small boat with fun packages, such as a BBQ boat or high tea boat. These boats are operated by skippers, but it’s also possible to hire a boat with your friends and sail yourself! You can also approach a boat tour over the Singel in a completely different way, for example with a sup board, beer pedal boat, tandem waterbike, or canoe.

Carnival in 't Kielegat

As a student from Breda, you cannot miss one of the most vibrant and exuberant events of the year: carnival in 't Kielegat. Breda knows how to celebrate the best party in the Netherlands every year. Eleventh of the eleventh, pub crawls, klûnen, the grand parade, dancing in the market... You have to experience it all at least once. However, it is more than just a party. It is an old tradition that is deeply rooted in the culture of Breda. The atmosphere during this time is therefore fantastic, and you must experience the sense of unity at least once.

Festivals

Of course, as a student, you often have a limited budget. That's why it's great that Breda hosts plenty of free festivals throughout the year! The Intro Festival is a great festival to kick off the school year. This is a private festival for people who study in Breda. In addition, there is Brand Parkies, which takes place every Tuesday evening in July and August, right in the Valkenberg park. Other festivals like Breda Barst and the Jazz Festival are also definitely worth a visit. Do you have some money left at the end of the month? Then take a look at festivals like Dreamvillage, Breda Live, and Ploegendienst.

Students Cravat Tour

The Cravattentocht is the largest student pub crawl in Breda. Here, more than a thousand students wander through the streets of the city centre wearing a bow tie around their necks. It's the perfect way to get to know the pubs in Breda! With a bow tie for € 22.50, you can get beer, wine, soft drinks, or a flügel at 10 pubs. You can complete this crawl at your own pace and in any order you like.

Silent Music Bingo

No numbers but songs: the Silent Music Bingo has now become a concept in Breda. It’s a combination of music and games, partying, and a whole lot of humour and entertainment. Every year, a free edition takes place at the Havermarkt, especially for students! Do you have bingo? Then you get to take one of the cool prizes on stage, but you will probably also have to complete a funny task.

Evening NAC

Not so sporty but more into watching? Then an evening at NAC in the Rat Verlegh Stadium should not be missed. Whether you like football or not, it’s always a great time here. It’s more than just a football match; NAC Breda has a unique atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else, one that other clubs envy. The passion, pride, and friendliness here are indescribable.
