Breda is a city where everyone is welcome and where we look out for each other. A place that feels like home. Even if you require additional facilities due to a disability. On this page, you will find extra information about the accessibility of our city and nice places with extra facilities. If you have any comments or additional information about the information we provide, please let us know, as we are happy to expand.

At the Breda station, there are lifts and the station is equipped with tactile paving. The tactile paving leads from the platforms via the stairs or lift to the station hall.

In the station hall, there is a ticket vending machine, a service and emergency pillar, a service store, and OV-chipkaart gates. From the station hall, you can go to the bus station, the station exit on the Belcrum side (Stationslaan), or to the exit on the city centre side (Stationsplein). From the Stationsplein, you can reach the city centre via the Valkenberg Park. The Valkenberg Park is equipped with tactile paving. There is also a public (disabled) toilet available at the station.

Tactile/braille lines in Breda

Breda has short tactile paving at bus stops, dangerous busy crossings or hazardous locations. These connect to a guide path, but do not form clear routes as everyone has a different destination. Natural guide paths also work well for a safe walking route, but do not indicate a route. Some places have been equipped with paths marked by guiding lines:

From the station to the city centre: A guiding line runs from the station through Willemstraat. This transitions into a combination of guiding and tactile paving through Park Valkenberg. The route continues over Kasteelplein with a combination of guiding and tactile paving, ending at Grote Markt.

At the City Hall: From the bus stop on Claudius Prinsenlaan, a tactile paving path leads to the entrance of the city hall.

At the Amphia Hospital: A combination of guiding and tactile paving leads from the parking garage and bus stop to the entrance of the hospital.
