Asterdplas

The Asterdplas is a recreational lake in the Haagse Beemden north of Breda. You can swim, surf, sail and enjoy recreational activities here. There is a beach with grassy lounging areas available.

The Asterdplas is a recreational lake in the Asterd neighbourhood of the The Hague Beemden district on the north side of Breda. Many species of birds can be found in the wet transitional area near the lake. It is located next to the Haagse Beemden forest, which is managed by Staatsbosbeheer. You can swim, surf, sail, and recreate here. 

Current rules:

  • There is no swimming supervision 
  • Dogs and horses are not allowed from April 1 to September 30. Outside of the season, dogs must be kept on a lead.
  • Barbecuing or open fires are not allowed.
  • Camping and overnight stays are not allowed.
  • Motorised vessels are not permitted.
  • Diving is only allowed with a buoy.
