Zero Waste Week

Going waste-free is also a great way to save a lot of money. The most fun part is being able to watch (and participate!) with innovative Breda Makers who are already setting a great example. It will be an exciting week, with more than 50 inspiring activities. Everyone should experience this!

500 kilos of waste
The average Dutch person produces almost 500 kilos of waste per year. On the path to a circular society, this amount needs to decrease, but how? We won't achieve it with just more separating and recycling. The best way is prevention: making way less waste. The Zero Waste Week from 1st to 7th July in Breda will give substance to this, in a playful and inviting way. A gift for all residents.

Make it waste-free - Meet the Makers!
The theme of this year is 'Make it waste-free', because what you make yourself or have made, you don't waste and throw away after one use. You take care of it! You repair, reuse, maintain, and cherish it. That's why during the Zero Waste Week, we will get to know the makers of Breda, and also rediscover our own maker skills!

Each day has its own theme, such as Make It Delicious (food waste), Make It Beautiful (beauty and fashion products), and Make It Clean (cleanup actions and cleaning products). This way, the MAKE theme will be executed perfectly.

Programme
There are more than 50 activities, such as: Workshops, excursions, cleanup actions, repair cafés, delicious food, and even an activity 'Cleaning Sneakers', because good maintenance extends their lifespan. The Zero Waste Week is interesting for everyone, from young to old, from beginners to waste gurus. Almost all activities are freely accessible.
