From Liberator to Bredanaar On 29 October 2024, it will be exactly 80 years since Breda was liberated by the soldiers of the 1st Polish Armoured Division under the command of General Maczek.&nbsp; After the war, many of these liberators could not return home to Poland due to the changed geopolitical situation.About 350 Polish soldiers chose to build their lives in and around Breda. This is not a coincidence, as the Polish division was quartered here for five months during the winter of 1944/45. Many friendships and more emerged from that. From 12 October until the end of November, 80 of our liberators will be represented in the streets through flags; each with its own story. These stories can be read on the website of the Maczek Memorial Breda starting from 12 October.&nbsp;--&gt; Guided tours of special places Several tours are organised along the route of the Walk of Fame. This route passes by various Polish monuments and memorial sites from the Second World War.
