TRANS-FORM, with works by Guido Geelen

From 19 April to 31 August, TRANS-FORM will take place. A solo exhibition featuring works by Guido Geelen, focusing on the dynamics of constant change.

The word 'trans' in the title refers to transition, the journey to the other side, and the transhistorical perspective – viewing the past from the present. This aligns with the development of the Grote Kerk Breda, which has evolved alongside the changes of its time over the centuries.

The eleven works by Guido Geelen in the exhibition respond to the monumental space of the church and engage in dialogue with the many transformations it has undergone. After TRANS-FORM, Geelen himself will leave a permanent mark. He is responsible for the design of the new artwork that will be realised on the exterior of the Grote Kerk Breda in early 2026.

Guido Geelen was born in 1961 in Thorn, Limburg. He attended the Academy for Visual Arts in Tilburg and has been living and working on the outskirts of this city since 1997. Guido Geelen's work is bold, energetic, and ambiguous. Geelen has an unorthodox approach to materials such as clay, bronze, iron, and aluminium, and his spatial works continue to surprise and captivate.
