The Power of Njoy - Concert Pop Choir Njoy

On Saturday evening, 23 November, Popkoor Njoy from Princenhage will give their biggest and most vibrant performance in its history, at De Drie Linden in Prinsenbeek. The energetic choir sings contemporary music and songs full of passion, emotion, heartache, love, and happiness. The Power of Njoy offers you an evening full of courage, strength, zest for life, and cheerfulness, and is also a feast for the eyes. Upbeat songs like ‘Learning to Fly’ (Sheppard) and ‘Multicolor’ (Son Mieux) alternate with beautiful ballads, such as ‘Don’t Worry About Me’ (Frances). Popkoor Njoy is accompanied by their 5-member band consisting of a drummer, pianist, bassist, and 2 guitarists, all under the inspiring leadership of their very experienced conductor Vladimir Pairel.

Popkoor Njoy has been around for 22 years and has only grown in recent years. While other choirs shrank or were even disbanded during the Covid period, Njoy continued to grow steadily. The choir now consists of 50 members along with the band. This performance arose from the idea of camaraderie, ‘The Power of Togetherness’. Many cherished friendships and beautiful love stories have developed within the choir over the years. This positive energy is palpable during the performance. Where the choir has mainly performed in community centres and small venues until now, it is now making the leap to a hall that can accommodate as many as 350 visitors. Considerable attention has also been paid to the ‘choreo’; Popkoor Njoy wants to be anything but a stately choir, but rather an energetic and lively pop choir!
