The Golden Circle
The Golden Circle, the historical conscience of contemporary Breda! The Golden Circle is a meeting place where citizens, city officials, and other experts discuss the interests of the historic city as cultural heritage.
Information
The Golden Circle is a meeting place where engaged citizens, city officials, and other experts discuss the interests of the historic city as cultural heritage, paying attention to the dynamic developments of a contemporary, modern city.
The City Society The Golden Circle takes its name from a walking route, a promenade within the city walls that leads interested walkers past a number of highly remarkable, historical, and newly developed parts of the city: the Harbour, Havermarkt, Grote Markt, Houtmarkt, Kloosterplein, Schouwburgplein, Museumplein, and Van Coothplein. Since its founding in January 1996, the City Society The Golden Circle has organised over 175 meetings.
The lecture will start at 20:00, and the entrance will be open half an hour beforehand. The themes of the lectures or forum discussions often have a cultural-historical background but are placed in a current context whenever possible.
