Starman - The Dutch David Bowie Tribute in MEZZ

David Bowie, one of the most influential pop musicians of the 20th century, was praised for his innovative work. With worldwide hits such as ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Changes’, ‘Let’s Dance’, and ‘Heroes’, we can say that David Bowie explored most, if not all, aspects and dimensions of pop music.

Starman – The Dutch David Bowie Tribute pays a heartfelt homage to the vibrant life of David Bowie and returns to MEZZ in March. Starman is a nine-member Dutch David Bowie tribute band. With frontman Rias Baarda, they have already performed on stages such as Paaspop and the Gentse Feesten. The reactions from the audience were overwhelming: “Never before has a Bowie tribute sounded so sexy and vibrant!” The Dutch David Bowie Tribute finished third in the final of the SBS6 program ‘The Tribute, Battle of the Bands’ in 2023. Starman is a unique tribute band, and this did not go unnoticed by some musicians from Bowie’s entourage, such as Ava Cherry, Carmine Rojas, and Mike Garson.
