STAKE STAKE, founded under the name Steak Number Eight, is a post-metal and noise band from Belgium. The music is a blend of post-rock and sludge metal and is influenced by bands like Pelican, Isis, Sunn O))) and Amenra.The latest album they released is ‘LOVE, DEATH and DECAY’, which are the three themes around which STAKE's new record is built. The Ghent-based band tosses all conventions aside: stepping on the gas and pulling back. It has become a close collaboration where all group members contributed to the lyrics, and for the first time, the band was in control of the mixing in the studio.STAKE dominates where it needs to, but also leaves space to breathe, to empathise, and to rebuild. “I have never been as satisfied with an album as I am with this one,” says frontman Brent. And that works fervently, motivating and yet misleading. Meanwhile, they reside in their self-built studio in Tilburg, where they independently write, produce, and release their tracks.
