Stage for Stories: NAC - More than Football
Information
In the Explore Breda Store, you will discover stories of local initiatives in the form of exhibitions and other activities. Together with partners from the city, this is how we tell the Story of Breda: we are a borderless, green and hospitable city. The content of this stage changes regularly, ranging from cultural partners to educational institutions. From 3 April, discover the exhibition ‘NAC - More than football’.
NAC Breda was founded on 19 September 1912, as a result of a merger between two local football clubs. Over the years, NAC grew into a much-loved club, deeply rooted in the city of Breda. Exactly 100 years later, NAC Maatschappelijk was founded. By focusing on the 2 pillars; education & participation and sports & exercise stimulation, they make a positive impact on the lives of Breda's residents.
Through projects such as NAC Street League and NAC Oldstars, NAC Social is making a significant impact in the city of Breda. With these initiatives, they ensure that the club NAC Breda is more than just football. For example, NAC Social organises a project called NAC Football Memories. This project helps elderly people with or without dementia to retrieve football memories, also contributing to promoting social contacts.
Collecting football memories together. That is what this exhibition is about, offering a chance to hear the stories of Football Memories participants. These heroes show how football has helped them reminisce and experience a sense of belonging. For example, people with Alzheimer's can still effortlessly sing along to the NAC club song and a photo of the old Beatrix stadium also makes many NAC hearts beat faster.
Besides these stories, the exhibition also allows you to relive other special memories, showing that NAC is much more than just football! You can also buy the limited edition t-shirts by Rath Streetwear, specially designed for this exhibition! Three different shirts, each representing a memorable moment in NAC history. In addition, we also sell the books: ‘Diary of the Cup Winner’ and ‘Diary of the Champion’ and, finally, the Nostalgic Football Calendar 2025.
