The adult Sam observes her younger self appearing on screens on stage, as events from their lives unfold in fragmented ways. The young Sam struggles with fears and dark feelings of loneliness, misunderstanding, and self-hatred. She seeks refuge in the world of film and music, where her own creativity and imagination are given free rein.The members of Cello Octet Amsterdam alternately take on the roles of extras and musicians, with music ranging from electronic pop and contemporary classical to dark, alienating soundscapes.You watch and listen as Sam tries to find her place in the world. The (musical) interplay between the young and older Sam reveals a unique balance between youth, adulthood, and (un)realised potential, sometimes bordering on the surreal.
