Salon Library: The Voice of the Water

The Netherlands and water are inextricably linked. Water in its calming form, as a place of work and leisure, and as a source of threat and misfortune. Bert Haanstra found it a beautiful subject for a wonderful cinema documentary. This resulted in the film "The Voice of the Water". Bert Haanstra strikingly and originally captures the beauty of the landscapes along the Dutch coasts. In the hour and a half that follows, we see numerous people who live, work, and recreate on, by, and in the water.
