PostSchool Lecture 'the freedom of your enemy' at Nieuwe Veste

Guest speaker Remko van Broekhoven Remko was born in Breda and is a political philosopher, lecturer, and author. Freedom is a great good, but what exactly is freedom? And especially: what are we willing to do or to refrain from in order to conquer our freedom? Eighty years ago, when the liberation of the Netherlands was underway, this was the big question for the Allied liberators, the resistance fighters, and ‘ordinary’ Dutch people. In 2024, in a world full of war, oppression, and polarization, ‘freedom’ remains a challenge. During his lecture, Remko will address the question of what freedom humans grant their enemies, in times of war and of peace.
