Pianist Kelvin Grout with British "Piano jewels" at MuziekSalon Spronk

Discover hidden piano jewels during Kelvin Grout's concert with humorous stories at MuziekSalon Spronk.

Information

The English crown jewels are truly majestic, full of splendor and grandeur, brilliance and colour. England also possesses jewels for the piano, but these are pearls that are not well-known, seemingly hidden. However, Kelvin Grout is going to change that and will present a musical story in April featuring those specific piano pieces.

He will perform them during the music salon and will talk about them in his characteristic humorous way. Kelvin, who has lived in Breda for some time, has an impressive track record. During his studies, he was invited by the famous singer Elisabeth Schwarzkopf to assist her with her singing lessons in her home in Zurich, and he travelled with her throughout Europe as a regular accompanist at many of her masterclasses.

As a result, Grout has built a very international career as a song accompanist and has worked with many of the world's greatest song singers, including Jessye Norman, for example. But now he has returned to his first great love: solo piano playing, and he is passionate about showcasing unknown and beautiful British piano music to music lovers.

He will play wonderful music by the composer Frank Bridge. Also, piano music from a composer named Baines, never heard of, but a delight to the ear, and much other music that deserves to be pulled from oblivion.
