Performance Het Sluitstuk: De Balans van Bestaan at Chassé Theater

Two actors on an empty stage together build a world where a chic fashion show unintentionally turns into an auction. A Kafkaesque world reflecting society. What happens when one has everything and the other has nothing? Why do we find it so difficult to share with those who have less? Encounters of inequality are expressed through costumes, music, and dance. In striking scenes, we reveal where the friction lies. Sharp, honest, and moving. 

Inequality and Existential Insecurity
This is the finale of a longer investigation into inequality and existential insecurity in the Netherlands. Earlier, Stormkamer created The Salon between Abundance and Lack about existential (in)security and The Encounter between Everything and Nothing about inequality in a city. Stormkamer spoke with people in different cities about this subject. All this input is incorporated into the performance: The Balance of Existence. Without it concluding, as the lingering question is: How can we coexist when we know that not everything is fair?
