Music Salon Spronk Literature & Music: poetry and music about Dutch cities
Information
A special project at Literature & Music: Could the atmosphere and characteristics of major cities be captured in music and poetry? This was the question posed by flautist Rogier de Pijper and pianist Heather Pinkham.
They asked four poets, from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht, to write a poem inspired by their city. They then invited four Dutch composers to create a new composition based on those poems. The result was a vibrant and heartfelt whole that included many themes. The poems will be presented by Jetje van Wijk.
