A specially assembled ensemble for this occasion, consisting of
- Maartje Kleemans (soprano)
- Marleen de Bont-Stapel (mezzo-soprano)
- Stan Veldhuis (pianist)
- Isa de Vroed (cello)
- and Jaco de Vroed (guitar)
will ensure an entertaining morning at Maczek Memorial Breda. The programme includes pieces by Claudio Monteverdi, music from the Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Franz Liszt, and more contemporary repertoire from the likes of Jacques Brel and Billy Joel.
Isa de Vroed and Stan Veldhuis sat in the same class together for many years at secondary school. They are both still studying, but they have respectively passed the D-particular and C-particular exams successfully at Nieuwe Veste. Jaco Veldhuis is Isa's father, who has played an important role in her musical education as a guitarist. They now frequently perform together.
Maartje and Marleen have known each other since elementary school and have both been singing for almost their entire lives. They have also been singing together for about 30 years; first in the Bachkoor Brabant and a little later in the Breda ensemble Bocca Bella.
In short, a diverse group making its debut at the Maczek Memorial.
