Marble Sounds has held a unique place in the Belgian music scene for years. With ‘Leave A Light On’, Pieter Van Dessel scored a Belpop classic and since then, he continues to challenge himself musically.
In 2022, Marble Sounds released a self-titled fifth album that received much acclaim, including a 5-star review from Humo. The album also resonated in the Netherlands, featuring a 2 Meter Sessie with Jan Douwe Kroeske and an article by Nico Dijkshoorn. Singles like ‘Quiet’ and ‘Axolotl’ conquered the radio and alternative charts, and live, Marble Sounds managed to touch every audience with their indie pop.
For the new album due out in early 2025, Van Dessel is opting for a new direction. Piano and strings are set aside for a fuller, electronic pop sound featuring synths reminiscent of Giorgio Moroder. The first single, ‘An Emotional High’, is indie pop that evokes longing for summer and good times.
