On Saturday 16 November, the Living Library takes place for the seventh time at the Breda library. Engage in conversation with Living Books!

In the Living Library, you do not read books, but people. Fascinating individuals, such as a transgender woman, a person with autism, an ex-hooligan, or a teenage mother, share their life stories with you. The aim? To break down prejudices through open conversations. What we think based on someone's appearance is often not the reality.

How does it work?
Come to the library and choose a Living Book from the catalogue.
Register at the desk and a volunteer will introduce you to your Book.
You then have 20-30 minutes for an open conversation.

The conversations are voluntary, and the title of the Book (such as ‘Homeless’ or ‘Transgender Woman’) forms the basis. No one-sided stories, but real dialogues where both sides have a say.

The Living Library aims to reduce prejudices and increase understanding. By talking openly with each other, you learn from one another, leading to mutual understanding.
