Information

The cinematic indie rock of Seewolf is a long anthem to the Frisian coastal landscape. It is the result of the fierce interaction between the inner and outer worlds. The eternal wind, the water crashing against the coast, the heavy dikes, the lighthouse shining over the vast land, and time that passes a little bit slower.

Their debut album ‘A Bounce Of Grace’ breathes that same openness, with four passionate musicians pushing each other forward in the spirit of bands like Motorpsycho, The Veils, and The Doors. Songs that are firmly rooted in the Frisian clay. The same clay that sticks to the shoes of the band members and they take with them wherever they go in the rumbling tour van that connects the miles together.

The band is always on the road towards a new horizon, whether during Popronde, heading to Eurosonic, or as a support act for Still Corners and New Model Army. But it all begins at the edge of the land, where the group isolates itself from busy society and momentarily forgets the time as they slowly dissolve into their music together.

Alongside their fifth band member, an old tape machine from the Wally Heider Recording Studio in San Francisco, where icons like Tom Waits, Van Morrison, and Neil Young recorded. Tuning, repairing, and tinkering with this machine is an essential part of the ongoing search for the question of why music from the sixties and seventies sounds so timeless.

Their love and passion for this recording technique is evident in the characteristic debut album of Seewolf, where that cold northern wind finally resonates with the warm sound of an analogue tape tone.
