Lievense Live: Mo & the Bluesnotes

Get ready for a hefty dose of raw emotion, soulful guitar riffs, and a voice that cuts right through your soul – Mo and the Bluesnotes bring their unique Power Blues to the stage!

Information

"..Mo and the Bluesnotes created their own brand of blues; Power Blues. Best described as raw, emotional, and dynamic. The ‘power’ runs through everything they do. From their original music to their live shows. The embodiment of power blues is hurricane Mo herself. Mo is a captivating performer, who will grab your attention and never let you go!.." Mo's heavy, dark blues voice is reminiscent of Janis Joplin; without a doubt. In addition to a nod to the legendary hippie icon, raw blues unmistakably features on Mo's menu.

With a range of performances in the Netherlands and Germany, Mo, along with several bands, has made these stages comfortably unsafe. With original music, but also with arrangements of well-known blues numbers. The way “Rather go blind” is delivered is in sharp contrast to the songs by, among others, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Rory Gallagher.

With her unique gritty voice, combined with her band The Bluesnotes, Mo is a renowned singer-songwriter “in her own write”. Supported by a very solid power trio featuring guitarist Jan Willem van Holland (ex. (Wild) Romance), bassist Kjartan Jônsson, and drummer Thomas Vermeulen, there are seasoned veterans on stage who have long since mastered their craft and have made the music their own.
