Lievense Live: Highway 58

Singer-guitarist John Nieuwenhuijse decides to form a power trio after playing in several bands as a guitarist and attending dozens of jam sessions in the Netherlands and Belgium. The main focus is on songs from his heroes, both past and present, delivered in his own style and topped with his unique sound. Think of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Walter Trout, but also the Black Crowes, CCR, Herman Brood, Rory Gallagher, and many others.

He finds a solid bass partner in Remy Wisse, who also takes care of the backing vocals. There are some changes in the drum slot, but now the steady drumming is handled by Johnny Quireyns. After a flying start at the end of 2018, they finished 2019 with around 25 gigs in various cafés and venues, where they were enthusiastically received for their variety of songs and styles, ranging from subdued tenderness to screaming blues rock. They are also now welcome guests at motorcycle clubs and gatherings in the Netherlands and Belgium.
