Information
The nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge are organising a walk in a forest with beautiful spring flowers.
A spring walk in the Voorbos of the Ulvenhoutse Bos is a real experience. This part of the area is quite marshy due to clay layers in the ground that act as barriers. Cracks in these clay layers channel clean, calcium-rich groundwater upwards, which makes the forest even wetter and supports unique plant growth. As long as the trees are not yet fully in leaf, spring blossoms such as wood anemone, lily of the valley, marsh marigold, and Solomon's seal benefit from the sunlight on the forest floor.
Because of its high nature value, this forest has been designated as a “wet nature pearl” and as a Natura 2000 site. This brings additional protection and management measures to combat, among other things, drying out. This ensures that the unique character is preserved and that you can continue to enjoy it.
Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registering, you will receive information about the starting point.
