IVN Nature Walk The Broskens

Join on Sunday, 27th April with the nature guides from IVN Mark & Donge and discover the beautiful brook valley of the Broskens during an adventurous 7 km walk through marshes, hedgerows, and flower-rich meadows – with the chance to see special birds and dragonflies!

Information

On Sunday morning, April 27, the natural guides of IVN Mark & Donge will be exploring one of the most beautiful brook valleys in Brabant. The area consists of a small-scale nature and cultural landscape. Fields and woods alternate with ponds, hedgerows, meadows, and marsh areas.

In some places, spring water rises to the surface. This deep spring water is rich in lime, iron, and other minerals, which has led to a unique vegetation in some areas. You can often see or hear bird species that have become rare elsewhere; so take binoculars with you. In spring and summer, various species of dragonflies and butterflies can be seen.

Staatsbosbeheer has constructed a wading path over the higher parts of the Broskens between the marshes. Wear sturdy waterproof walking shoes or boots. This walk of over 7 km takes longer than most other nature walks by IVN. Expect it to last 4 to 4.5 hours and make sure to bring some food and drink with you.

Registration is possible until the day of the walk. After registration, you will receive information about the departure location. The walk starts at 10:00 AM and lasts until approximately 15:00 PM. You can find more information and the registration form on the website of IVN Mark & Donge under Activities.
