IVN Nature Walk: Estate Oosterheide

Estate Oosterheide is an important part of Landscape Park 'Open Linie' and acts as a green buffer between all the urban development surrounding it.

At the beginning of the last century, as many as 70 different tree species were planted here. Some avenues are planted with unusual combinations of broadleaf and coniferous tree species. Now, the many coniferous wood plots are gradually being thinned out to develop a more natural wood with many broadleaf trees. 

Small ponds and amphibian pools, excavated to enhance nature conservation values, attract various animals. You walk with the guide through long avenues, encounter bullet catchers, and stroll alongside small fields and meadows bordered by trees.
