IVN Landscape Walk Fazant-Ossengoor

The nature guides of IVN Mark & Donge are heading out for a nice long landscape walk. You will start and end this walk in the Ulvenhoutse Forest, an area that has been designated as a Natura 2000 site due to its significant natural values. From there, you will walk to the Ossengoor in the Chaamse Forest. That "goor" has nothing to do with filth here; it is an old word for swamp or marshy area.

It will be a walk for sturdy walkers. You will cover a much greater distance and at a brisker pace than on the usual IVN walks. The emphasis will be on enjoying nature and the landscape, the scents and colours, and the plants and animals we encounter along the way, but you will focus more on the whole and less on the details. Expect a walk of around 20 km. You will be on the move for approximately 6 hours.

Bring plenty of food and drink with you and be prepared for all weather conditions. Rain gear and waterproof shoes are often necessary, as the Chaamse Woods are currently quite muddy again.   Of course, we hope for a beautiful spring day.
