IVN Family Walk Mushroom Walk Dorst

On the morning of Saturday 2 November, the nature guides from IVN Mark & Donge will head into the woods in search of mushrooms, and both young and old are welcome to join. Although mushrooms can be found throughout the year, we tend to see the most varieties in autumn. Fungi need moisture to grow: after rain, they pop up like mushrooms from the ground. Which fungi we will encounter is a surprise, as some only last a few days. This is why they capture the imagination; one moment they are there, and the next they have disappeared. In the past, they were associated with witches and magic, but also with fairies and gnomes. Just look at names like witch's bolete and fairy ring. Come along on an exciting treasure hunt and enjoy the magic of autumn. Bring a small mirror to view the underside of the mushroom, and with a magnifying glass, a whole new world will open up before you.

Anyone who wants to learn more about the activities of IVN can visit the information booth half an hour before or after the walk. The booth is set up at the starting point and offers a wealth of findings from nature. There's no better place to take a close look at bird feathers than here. Observation boxes provide a glimpse into various habitats. Registration is possible up to the day of the walk. After registering, you will receive information about the starting point.
