Het barre land in Chassé Theater

Experience an unforgettable evening in the company of Amsterdam Sinfonietta, ISH Dance Collective and Bencha Theater, under the direction of Candida Thompson on violin and with the groundbreaking direction and choreography of Marco Gerris. In the production The Barren Land, music, dance, aerial acrobatics and poetry blend in a seamless and magical way. This multidisciplinary performance explores themes such as decay, alienation and regeneration, inspired by the poem of T.S. Eliot and Farokzhad Layegh’s Lexolalia Descenticum.

The performance promises to be an emotional rollercoaster with powerful performers, acrobatic dance, immersive music, mysterious visuals and unexpected twists. The programme features works by Layegh, Nyman, Dessner, Say and other composers who contribute to the magic of The Barren Land.
