Symphonic Collective Breda, led by Amin Ebrahimi, presents a classical concert titled HERFSTROES featuring beautiful music by Grieg, Verdi, Brahms, Massenet, and Wagner. The soloist is Lianne Boon on violin, accompanied by harpist Laura van der Kloet.

The programme is full of contrasts and has one foot in dance, but after that euphoria, there is ample space for reflection and meditation, with music in autumnal hues.
Johannes Brahms toured in his youth as an accompanist with a Hungarian violinist who inspired him to compose 21 Hungarian dances for four-hand piano. We will showcase the most famous of these, but with all the colours of a symphony orchestra!
Just as after a stormy autumn, the mood shifts to timeless silence and space for contemplation.
First, there is the overture from Verdi's opera La Traviata: ethereal sounds leading to a poignant melody.
Wagner composed a rare lyrical and dreamy piece with his Siegfried Idyll, which seems to unfurl endlessly.
The sounds of Méditation from Massenet's opera Thaïs, beautifully interpreted by violinist/concertmaster Lianne Boon, assisted by the fantastic harpist Laura van der Kloet, also provoke deep thought.
In Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite, the striking contrasts are again apparent: the atmospheric Morning Mood and Aase’s Death stand opposite Anitra’s Dance and In the Hall of the Mountain King, which has become a worldwide hit.
A varied programme indeed, featuring forty-five minutes of beautiful music, without an intermission.
