'Hear me, see me' in The GalleryLane

What you see doesn't always tell the whole story. Just as a calm sea can hide a strong current, a young person's life can appear fine while there is a lot going on. In Breda, we are proud of organisations that actively support young people, such as De Cultuurkantine, Breda Mantelzorg, and PakhuisB. Approximately 1 in 4 young people cares for a family member. The Kunstkameraden project offers young carers the space to take a break from caregiving and express their creativity.

Information

What you see does not always tell the whole story. Just as a calm sea can hide a strong current, a young person's life may seem perfectly fine while there is a lot going on underneath. In Breda, we are proud of organisations that actively support young people, such as De Cultuurkantine, Breda Mantelzorg, and PakhuisB. Approximately 1 in 4 young people care for a family member. The project Kunstkameraden gives young carers the space to take a break from caring and express their creativity.

In The GalleryLane, you can discover artworks from Kunstkameraden. The Kunstkameraden exhibiting in The GalleryLane come from diverse backgrounds. They have been put forward by various social organisations in Breda. The Kunstkameraden collaborate with professional artists from Breda to tell their stories through art. Discover what they want to share with you!

Tip: In the Explore Breda Store, the second part of this exhibition can be viewed, featuring artworks created by young carers through Breda Mantelzorg. The project is about more than just creating art - it is also about connecting people and creating stories that go beyond the artwork.

Additionally, there is also a platform for the KinderTrendrede, an annual kind of throne speech and vision for the future from primary school children of the city to local politics. In the exhibition, you will find the future vision of children from the six editions of the KinderTrendrede.
