Expositie Zomerpareltjes

This is an exhibition about the stories behind the famous industries in Breda. Companies such as Kwatta, De Etna, De Faam, Drie Hoefijzers, De Suikerfabriek, De Machinefabriek Breda, the electrical engineering factory Electron, Hero, Enka Breda, and many others have had a significant impact on the Breda community, both socially, societally, and politically.

The exhibition shows how many Bredanaars worked in these factories, often across multiple generations. The work was passed down from father to son and from mother to daughter. The contributions of first and second-generation migrant workers are also highlighted, as they were a major part of the success of these companies.

Visitors gain insight into the personal stories of the people who stood on the shop floor for many years. The exhibition gives a voice to those who shaped these industries and the stories they passed down to their next generations.
