The exhibition tells the story of the Poles who travelled thousands of kilometres during the Second World War with a specific aim in mind: an independent Poland, a safe Europe, and a free world. It is the story of soldiers who fought on all fronts during the Second World War and of civilians who left the "inhumane land" in General Anders' army. But it is also the story of the "Silent Invisibles," the Special Forces trained in the West who were parachuted into occupied Poland to support the resistance. Here you can learn about the oppression of the Polish population by the German occupier and the struggle that Polish soldiers fought in Europe. It was not only the 1st Polish Armoured Division that contributed to the liberation of Europe. In this exhibition, you will find a complete overview of the battles fought by the Poles in countries including France, Italy, and the Netherlands.
