All layers are peeled away. Each one charges into battle without reservations in search of everything we would rather keep hidden, supported by deep drums and filthy basses.
For her performance ‘Lucht’, Elke received the Poelifinario 2020/2021, the award for the most impressive cabaret programme of the season. The VSCD cabaret jury wrote: “Vierveijzer proves to be one of the best songwriters in the Netherlands. She is more than the classic cabaret artist who tours venues with a stack of songs; she pours an overwhelming amount of experience into what she sings and says.”
For ‘Drift’, Elke received a nomination for the Poelifinario 2023/2024. The VSCD cabaret jury wrote: ''Vierveijzer steps out of her characteristic pleaser role with full inner conviction, having discovered that it slowly but surely drains her. With visible concentration, the always-friendly cabaret artist gives space to her inner frustration. Using determined movements, a belt full of musical weaponry, and a red-black colour scheme, she reveals what is brewing beneath the innocent surface. With this dedication, she also dares to alienate some people. Even those who cannot identify with the fate of the pleaser can immerse themselves in the fantastic accompaniment of Michiel Wetzer, who provides Vierveijzer’s songs with a rich and charged sound.''
