Early James Phoenix x MEZZ

Early James Phoenix stands out for his raw, soulful voice. Although he is only 31 years old, he sounds like an old soul.

At the age of fifteen, the American singer-songwriter started playing guitar and writing his own songs, inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan, Hank Williams and Tom Waits. His repertoire ranges from small, lonely blues songs to jazzy romantic folk and bombastic murder ballads. In the United States, Early James has already gathered many fans and played with big names, including The Marcus King Band and The Black Keys.

During a performance by The Black Keys, Early James was discovered by multi-Grammy winner Dan Auerbach, who signed him to his label Easy Eye Sound. This marked the beginning of a promising career. Early James' debut album, 'Singing for My Supper', followed quickly and received much praise. The successful collaboration between James and Auerbach continued with the production of James' second album 'Strange Time To Be Alive'.
