DART Group Exhibition Art Display Cases Station

Visit the DART group exhibition at Breda Central Station, where regional artists come together and art strengthens the connection between cities.

Information

Two art organizations from Breda, Stichting Idee-fixe (IDFX) and the Artists' Development Platform (KOP), are joining forces for an exhibition at Breda Central Station.

The station’s art display cases will be the stage for the DART group exhibition, with connection as the central theme. The exhibition brings together artists from the surrounding cities of Dordrecht, Antwerp, Roosendaal, and Tilburg, with Breda serving as the hub of cultural exchange and creativity.

Meeting Place for Artistic Talent
Breda Station, situated between several cities, is positioned by the DART group exhibition as more than just a transport hub; it becomes a symbolic space where artistic worlds converge. By uniting artists from the region, the exhibition highlights the connection between these cities. This collaboration showcases that art knows no boundaries, with Breda acting as a meeting place for artistic talent from the area.

Four artists, each from one of the surrounding cities, have been selected for the DART exhibition.
Jelle Korevaar combines religious symbolism in his work with his personal search for meaning. His kinetic sculptures invite the public to explore their own interpretations and emotions. His works stimulate the imagination, emphasizing human interaction and emotion.
Sien Custers focuses her art on the transformations between emergence and decay. Her work explores life forms and the relationship between humans and other living beings. Custers questions traditional gender roles and offers a perspective on the fluid nature of existence and togetherness.
Joeri Ista creates multidisciplinary artworks that often explore personal stories and themes such as insecurity, trauma, and dreams. His work includes a mix of pencil drawings, photo collages, and texts, offering an intimate view of his inner world and the complexity of human emotions.
Chriso Amaya Michailidis combines sculpture, performance, and sound to create fictional landscapes where bodies and spaces interact through movement and sound. Their work challenges viewers to reflect on how we occupy space and how we relate to one another in collective structures.
The works of Jelle Korevaar and Sien Custers are presented together in one of the art display cases, while the other case is reserved for the works of Joeri Ista and Chriso Amaya Michailidis. This arrangement showcases the dialogue between the different artistic approaches and themes.

Opening and Duration of the Exhibition
The DART group exhibition will be officially opened on Friday, 20 September at 17:00 at Breda Central Station.
