On Sunday, 13 April 2025, the OSO Symphony Orchestra will present a charming Spring concert ‘De Lage Landen’ at De Vlieren in Breda. Under the inspiring leadership of conductor Carlo Nabbe, the orchestra will showcase a programme featuring music by composers from the Netherlands and Flanders.


The solo contribution will be from oboist Anna Marieke Zijlstra. She is a versatile musician who, alongside her work as an oboist in renowned orchestras such as the Metropole Orchestra, is also active as a vocal soloist and teacher. During this concert, she will perform works by Willy Ostijn and Johan Wagenaar. This afternoon, you will hear works by composers from the Low Countries.


The afternoon will begin with the Overture in B minor by Johannes Verhulst, followed by Willy Ostijn’s Elegy for oboe and orchestra and Johan Wagenaar’s Larghetto for oboe and orchestra, featuring soloist Anna Marieke Zijlstra. After the intermission, the orchestra will perform Old Dutch Dances by Julius Röntgen, and the concert will conclude with the Symphony in C minor by Daniël de Lange.


It promises to be a delightful afternoon! Doors open at 14:00, concert starts at 14:30.
