Cappella Breda with 'Out of Deep Distress'

Cappella Breda sings in honour of its founder's 85th birthday 'Aus Tiefer Not', including the musically contemporary and challenging ‘Madrigalen voor de Stad Breda’. At the heart of this piece is the beloved chorale ‘Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir’. Each part of this work by Daan Manneke tells a piece of the history of the city of Breda. Bernou de Heer accompanies the choir on accordion. Poet Yvonne Né recites the text of the Madrigalen at the concert. They surround the work of Daan Manneke with ‘Verleih' uns Frieden’ by H. Schütz, the motet ‘Warum ist das Licht gegeben’ by J. Brahms, and two beautiful arrangements of the famous chorale ‘Aus tiefer Not’, by J.S. Bach and L. Hellinck.
