Brihang at MEZZ

This autumn, Brihang will embark on the 'Humble in the Netherlands' tour in various venues in the Netherlands to once again conquer as many hearts as possible. This lesson in humility is definitely one you do not want to miss. It's an understatement to say that Brihang has gone through a lot in the four years since the release of his album 'Casco'. He got married, built a family, and then also had to deal with one of the most disruptive things imaginable: parenthood. So, it should come as no surprise that this new album took four years to come to fruition. The title 'Dream Nutrition' indicates how much fatherhood left its mark on this third album. "A dream feeding is a feeding given while your baby continues to sleep undisturbed. We nourish our lives with dreams and ambitions, dreams that give our lives direction." Do not expect a sentimental album with children's songs, quite the opposite. The rapper turns the lens on himself and his immediate environment, documenting everything he sees or feels, unfiltered. From the beautiful moments on that pink cloud to the despair in the middle of the grey mist and everything in between: Brihang proves to be a masterful chronicler of his own life, with observations that everyone - with or without children - can relate to. He still cannot be compared to anything or anyone else, a breath of fresh air in times when proven formulas and all-powerful algorithms seem to be in charge. 'Dream Nutrition' was released on Friday 6th October under Fake Records, both physically and digitally. The album debuted at number 1 in Belgium and Brihang embarked on sold-out club tours both in the autumn and spring. This summer, he is performing at the biggest festivals, including Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Couleur Café, and Cactus Festival.
