On 11th, 12th and 13th October, the focus is on you at the Chassé Theatre during Be Proud, a tribute to diversity and inclusivity with identity at its core. Multi-talented Sef (Yousef Gnaoui) is an important artist within this theme. He began his career with ‘Flinke Namen’ and hit solo success in 2011 with the song De Leven, the title track of the film Rabat.Besides music, Yousef is also a graphic designer and director, responsible for his own album covers and music videos, as well as those of other artists. He is a leading figure in the Dutch musical landscape, appreciated for his musical and visual choices.Since 2017, he has been creating the popular podcast Yous &amp; Yay: New Emotions for VPRO alongside Pepijn Lanen. In 2023, he released his seventh solo album Ik zou voor veel kunnen sterven, maar niet voor een vlag uit, which won a 3voor12 award and an Edison for Best Album of 2023. On this album, Sef addresses themes such as capitalism, national borders, and identity, with sharp lyrics and a unique mix of hip hop, pop, and classical strings.
