BredaWandelt takes you on a journey of discovery through Breda and transforms Breda into a place where residents feel like tourists in their own city and visitors come to places they might otherwise overlook. With a variety of walks, this walking organisation introduces you to the hidden stories and beauty of Breda.
Walking, discovering, meeting
You are the explorer, wanting to meet and be actively engaged. You need that push to go for a walk or are looking for a nice and surprising place to meet others. Then BredaWandelt is for you.
BredaWandelt helps you cross a threshold and encourages interaction. By regularly joining one of the walks, your fitness improves, and you meet other walkers. If that doesn't boost your happiness...With new routes every week and changing starting locations, you get to know Breda and its surroundings a little better each time, allowing you to discover the nicest spots and feel even more at home.
How does BredaWandelt work?
If you become a member of BredaWandelt, you will receive credits, a kind of digital punch card. Depending on your membership, you can choose a certain number of activities during the week, at the weekend, or a combination of the two. You can even share a subscription with someone.

Heading out with your own group?
Prefer a one-off outing with your friends, family, or colleagues? You can do that with BredaTours, a separate branch of BredaWandelt. Let yourself be surprised by the enthusiastic city storytellers from BredaWandelt. They will take you off the beaten path. Choose from various tours, from the historical walk with fun facts, Breda in the mix with surprising spots, or opt for the thrilling murder stories.
Also available tailored and in English. Everything in consultation with you, of course.
Events
Walking events are a third branch of BredaWandelt. In June, the traditional four-day Expedition is on the agenda. You can choose from different distances and get to know various places and organisations in Breda along the way. And just like with the other activities of BredaWandelt, the combination of walking and socialising is the top priority. You do not need to be a member to register for the Expedition.
In December, BredaWandelt organises an exciting Christmas walk.
Who is behind BredaWandelt?
BredaWandelt was founded in 2017 as a 'walking club, but different' by Parilla van Blitterswijk. Discover how Parilla (right) and her partner Jikke expanded the organisation together and what their dreams are for the future of BredaWandelt.
