At the front of the Chassé Theatre, you will find the exhibition and education space. During BredaPhoto, you can see the beautiful result of a collaboration between the Breda-born Adelheid Roosen and Leendert Vooijce, who graduated from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 2017. In the film ‘In Witness’, they explore their personal life journey and the questions that arise along the way. Where in your identity does shame lie, where does trauma lie? What do you need from another person?

Roosen and Vooijce have also engaged in conversations with 26 residents of Breda in the project ‘Through the Eyes of Another’. These conversations are presented in language, photography, and video, aiming to encourage visitors to reflect on the meaning of a genuine encounter.

Additionally, BredaPhoto will organise discussions in collaboration with them and the participants in the project at various locations in the city with a figuratively low threshold, such as the public library, de Nieuwe Veste. The goal of the project is to create more understanding and empathy for others in your own city through the exchange of personal stories.

Access to this exhibition is free.
