Every city has its secret exit that only a select group of its inhabitants know about, and Breda is no different. It’s not surprising that Maria of Antwerp might have needed it sometimes. She was the first transvestite in the Netherlands and sometimes got into trouble because of it.

Maria deceived both known (and unknown) men and women, acting as ‘man’ and ‘woman’. Thanks to her role in the army, she could easily seduce and deceive high-ranking officers. And she often did! Of course, one of these times, things went wrong and Maria had to flee!

With the Escape Tour Breda, you step into Maria’s shoes and do everything you can to escape from Breda safely. You have only two hours to find the secret exit.

Maze Puzzle

From late July to October (check the website for the exact dates), you can wander through the Maize Maze of Hof van Overveld in Prinsenbeek. The puzzle walk of one and a half hours runs right through the cornfield. Each year, the field is sown according to a specific theme.

The treasure hunt is suitable for all ages. There is an additional route for wheelchair users and people with a pram.
