Cleaning up litter in Breda

  • Sustainable
Breda has a lot of active residents who are committed to reducing litter on the streets. Join a clean-up action in your own neighbourhood or in a nature reserve and help create a cleaner Breda. Check out all the initiatives here.

Plogging Breda

Jogging while picking up litter is also known as 'plogging'. Did you know that you can also plog in a group in Breda? A way to combine working on your health and working towards a better environment. What more could you want? Join Ron Bekker from the Runnerscafe for plogging! Participation is free, and gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Tidy Breda

If you are out walking, why not take some litter with you? That is the idea behind Opgeruimd Breda. A total of 685 people are already participating in Opgeruimd Breda. Regular clean-up events are also organised through Opgeruimd Breda. You go for a 1.5-hour walk with a group and clean up litter at the same time. Would you like to help make Breda tidier? Then sign up with organiser Peter van der List.

City hunters

The Nature and Environment Association Markkant, the initiator of Stadsjutters Breda, strives for the beauty of landscape, nature, and environment in the region! Together with the residents, they enjoy working towards a healthy and fresh living environment. Stadsjutters collect valuable materials and information. With the help of the App Litterati group Stadsjutters Breda, they register, while photographing, what is located where. This data is analysed and mapped out statistically. With this data, causes can be identified and addressed. This way, they can clean and maintain the city sustainably.

SUP & Run cleanup

The canals in Breda are a fantastic attraction for both residents and visitors alike. Unfortunately, we have a problem with pollution in our waterways. Waste is not only visible in the water but also on the shores. We can make a change together! Ron Bekker and Kristina Morros from Runnerscafe live in Breda and are the organisers of sporty cleanup events. Join Kristina on the water with a SUP board, kayak, canoe, or boat and help make the Breda canals cleaner! SUP experience is required if you are participating via SUP. Participation is free.

Rubbish pickers

Sisters Sanne and Lilian Verlaak, known as the Prullenprikkers Breda, are going around the neighbourhoods to collect litter. They regularly join clean-up events to help keep Breda cleaner.
